Tara was purchased in 1964 by Mervyn and Rod Evans. The Stud was registered by Rod in 1977 on Manderley Blood with the introduction of Merryville blood in 1989, this was instrumental in stabilising a finer family whilst retaining the soft handling, well-nourished superior crimping medium families for which "Tara Park" has become widely recognised.

Today, Tara Park sheep average 18 micron, with plainer bodies while still maintaining large frames with good conformation, heavy fleece weights with soft supple skins which are resilient to all weather conditions.
